If anyone wants to play this Saturday in a practice game against our younger team can you please let me know after training on Tuesday. They are quite a strong team and will probably want to try and teach us a lesson!!! So it could be a good game.

Another web link
Here's a link directly to our CYFL League Cup page.
It shows we have Whitewebs in next round (quarter final), then either Enfield Rangers or Young Guns in semi, and if we go all the way, probably Brimsdown in the final.

New web links
The CYFL has a new website for results and fixtures etc. For now, I'll leave both the new and old links in the window on the left. The old, mitto pages are still updated, just somewhat later.
Here's the league table page. Click on 'Minchenden Youth F.C. U12' to show our results and forward fixtures.

Fixture: 19th Oct Minchenden v Norseman
Home game- meet at 9:30am

Result : Winchmore Hill 6 - 2 Minchenden
A disasterous start for us letting the opposition walk straight through our defence and coceding a goal in the first few seconds. Although we equalised quickly, the speed of their defence was too much for us and they looked like scoring on many occasions. That said, we looked equally threatening in attack but we went in 4-2 down at half time. We had plenty of opportunities to score in the 2nd half but could not put the ball away. Winchmore Hill continued to get through and around our defence and it ended 6-2.
We need to do what we did in our match against Potters Bar and defend from the front.

Result: Broomfield 8 Minchenden 7
Got off to a shaky start, being 3-0 down in 15 minutes and 6-3 down at half time. We fought back with plenty of effort and attacking play in the second half but not quite enough. We were unlucky with some ref decisions but lets not blame that.
Both their second half goals came from breaking attacks when we lost the ball in their half, so we need to concentrate on getting back more quickly to defend when we do loose the ball (everyone needs to get back, not just defenders). Also better communication between defenders, including Djan in goal, over who is doing what.
Goal scorers for us were Sam H, Tom R, Terry, Rob B (2), Sam R (excellently taken free kick) and Mark.
Man of the match, Rob B, for his first two goals in the team aswell as good, solid play on the right side in defence and midfield.
