Despite the weather and the final score an excellent game of football.
We started strongly straight from kick-off with plenty of good football in their half. We were also particulatly strong defensively with all players doing their bit. We had a couple of lucky breaks when a Chase Side attempt got mis-kicked, hit the post or went wide and I was starting to think it might be our match. I think we had the better of the first half, holding them to nil-nil.
The second half they came on a bit stronger and maybe we started to tire a little. We still had our chances but failed to capitalise on them; they had theirs, and unfortunately did. The first goal being a goal mouth scramble where we just failed to clear the ball; the second, again from close play around our goal - everyone was tending to follow or chase the ball rather than looking around, keeping spread out and in position, and making sure all their players are marked.
Anyway, a good game from us and nobody should be disappointed in the performance of the team ... play like that in future and we will get back to winning ways.
Man of the match was Oliver, his first match for the team. An excellent performance at the back; good tackling, good strong clearances -- keep it up.
